17) Let prachi age be x.

ATQ,

Her mother age = 3x.

and, Her brother age = x - 3

Question also says,

Mother age = 4 ( x - 3)

Equating the ages,

3x = 4x - 12

12 = 4x - 3x

x = 12

Now, Mother age = 3(12)=36, Prachi age = 12, Her brother age = 12-3 = 9.

18) Let the first of four consecutive multiples of 5 be x

Then the next multiples will be x, x + 5, x + 10, x + 15

Given, Sum of those = 330.

x + x + 5 + x + 10 + x + 15 = 330

4x + 30 = 330

4x = 300

x = 75
