what are three potential arguments and 3 potential counter-argument for why 16-year-olds should vote

The counter argument to this piece says that 16-year-olds would rather recreate the Kylie Jenner lip challenge. But this isn’t the case.
It’s only quite recently that we’ve started seeing them as children.
Only a century ago it was common that they’d be working full-time jobs, getting married and starting a family at that age. They were seen as adults.
16 and 17-year-olds are smarter and more capable than most people think.
Sure, your life experience is fairly limited at 16, and maturity levels vary wildly from person to person but plenty of 16-year-olds would be conscientious voters.
And the ones who have no interest in politics – well, like in every age group, they probably just won’t bother voting.
18 to 24-year-olds traditionally have the lowest voting turn-out of any age group, so the chances are that the number of 16 and 17-year-olds voting would be quite low too.
