Let the unknown weight of sugar be x

and Convert the kg into gram for easy calculation

that is

1 kg = 1000g

So,

 \frac{10}{40}  =  \frac{x}{1000g}

then

 \frac{1000g \times 10}{40}  = x

x = 250 g

250 get sugar can be purchased for Rs. 10
