THE SACRED FRUIT OF ACTION
A wife and her husband lived in Ramnagar. They had a son, Rahul. He was very very kind hearted and pious. One Saturday, after bath, Rahul worshipped God. His father called him and asked him to bring some fruits. He readily ran out and purchased the some fruits, but on the way back he saw another boy with his mother. They were very hungry. When the hungry boy saw the bananas, he ran towards them. The hungry mother who saw the boy running, ran after him and caught him. The two collapsed out of hunger. Rahul felt sorry for the sufferers. He thought that it was much better to feed the hungry than to take the bananas home. He gave the bananas to the mother and the son and later brought them water to drink and relieved them of their hunger and thirst. The two expressed their gratitude in many different ways. Tears of joy rolled down their cheeks. After few distance, he saw a old man who was thin and weak, and was suffering from hunger, so Rahul gave the remaining fruits to him and went home empty-handed. The father asked him if he had bought the fruits. He replied in the affirmative. When he asked where the fruits were, Rahul replied that the fruits he bought were sacred, they could not be seen and hence would never rot. The son explained that he had fed two hungry souls with the bananas, and the fruits which he brought home are only the sacred fruits of the action. The father felt very proud of his son. He felt that his son was worthy of him and all his prayers had been answered that day. He developed great affection for the son and their relationship strengthened with time.
