<b>Heya mate. (^_-). Solution below.
====================================

<u>Your Question -</u>

40% population of a town are men and 35% were women. If the number of children is 24000, find the total population of the town.

<u>Solution -</u>

Let the total population of the town be 'x'.

Then, number of males in the town -
= 40% of total
= 40/100 of x
= 40x/100

And, number of females in the town -
= 35% of total
= 35/100 × x
= 35x100

Also, number of children in the town = 24000

Now,

total population = number of males + number of females + number of children.

=> x = 40x/100 + 35x/100 + 24000

=> x - 40x/100 - 35x/100 = 24000

=> (100x - 40x - 35x)/100 = 24000

=> 25x/100 = 24000

=> x = 24000×100/25

=> x = 24000 × 4

=> x = 96000

<marquee>Hence, the total population of the town is 96000</marquee>
