by Pythagoras theorem

( H ) square = (A) Square + ( B) square

we have to take out base

(B) square = (H) square - (A) square

(B) square = (5) square - (4) square

(B) square = 25-16

(B) square = 9

B= √9

B=3

distance of the foot of the ladder = 3
