Answer : The correct option is, (A) FCC

Explanation :

As we know that zinc sulfide exists in two forms which are, ZnS Blende, ZnS Wurtzite.

The structure of ZnS Blende has cubic close packing (ccp) arrangement in which the sulfide ions (S^{2-}) occupy face centered cubic lattice points (FCC) and the zinc ions (Zn^{2+}) occupy half of the total number of tetrahedral voids.

In this structure, each sulfide ion is surrounded by 4 zinc ions and each zinc ion is surrounded by 4 sulfide ions. Therefore, ZnS has 4 : 4 coordination.

Hence, the arrangement of Sulfide ions in Zinc blende is, (A) FCC
