Solution :  

• Let the present age of Maya and Chaya be $6x$ and $5x$.
• As per the given data we represent condition as   :

            $\frac{6x + 15 }{5x + 15 } = \frac{9}{8}$

• By cross multiplying terms and adding like terms together we find the value of $x$.

         $\begin{array}{l}\frac{6 x+15}{5 x+15}=\frac{9}{8} \\48 x+120=45 x+135 \\3 x=15 \\x=5\end{array}$

• Present age of Maya  = $6x = 6\times 5 = 30 \ years$ .

Hence , present age of Maya is $30$ years.
