Velocity of plane with respect to the wind = Velocity of plane with respect to the earth - Velocity of the wind with respect to the earth

Treating North as positive y axis

And east as positive x axis

We have,

Velocity of plane with respect to the earth = 300 j

Velocity of the wind with respect to the earth = 100 i

Velocity of plane with respect to the wind = 300 j - 100 i
