If 43% are girls,then the remaining is boys,that is

100-43=57% is boys

that is 57% of a number (total strength) =1482

therefore the equation is

 \frac{57}{100}  \times x = 1482 \\  \frac{57x}{100}  = 1482 \\ 57x = 1482 \times 100 = 148200 \\ 57x = 148200 \\ x = 148200 \div 5 7\\  x = 2600

therefore the total strength of the School is 2600

2) Number of girls=

we've 43% of girls, therefore the equation is

 \frac{43}{100}  \times 2600 \\  = 43 \times 26 \\  = 1118

therefore the number of girls = 1118

and let's whether it's correct or not

we've the add number of students,and result should be 2600

1118+1482=2600

2600=2600
