Answer:

Let the total strength be 'x'

43% are girls , I.e number of girls = 43x/100

Total number of boys = 1482

Total number of students in school = Total number of Boys + Total number of Girls

i.e == x = 1482 + ( 43x/100 )

Bring Like terms to one side

x - ( 43x/100 ) = 1482

Multiply the equation by 100

100x - 43x = 148200

57x = 148200

x = 148200/57

x = 2600

There are total of 2600 students in that school !

Solution

Percentage of girls in school = 43

Percentage of boys in school = 100-43 = 57%

No of boys in the school = 1482

Let the total strength of school be x

57% of x = 1482

57\% \times  x = 1482 \\  \\  \implies \frac{57}{100}  \times x = 1482 \\  \\  \implies57 \times x = 1482 \times 100 \\  \\  \implies \: x =  \frac{1482 \times 100}{57}  \\  \\  \implies \: x = 26 \times 100 \\  \\  \implies \: x = 2600

Therefore ,total strength of school = 2600
