Near-sightedness, also known as short-sightedness and myopia, is an eye disorder where light focuses in front of, instead of on, the retina. This causes distant objects to be blurry while close objects appear normal. Other symptoms may include headaches and eye strain.

Myopia can be corrected by using a concave lens of appropriate focal length.

Near -sightedness or myopia is a defect of vision in which a person is able to see nearby objects clearly but has difficulty in seeing far objects.

In a myopic eye, the far point of the eye becomes before the infinity.

To correct myopia, a concave lens is used which is also known as diverging lens that diverges the light rays and make it fall to infinity.
