Hello Mate,

The original series is based on following pattern:

438+(7)2=487438+(7)2=487

487−(6)7=451487−(6)7=451

451+(5)2=476451+(5)2=476

476+(4)2=460476+(4)2=460

460+(3)2=469460+(3)2=469

Therefore, the number 447 is wrong.

Hope it is the answer.

Find the wrong term in the following series?

438, 487, 447, 476, 460, 469

Answer :  \bold{447}

Explanation -

438 + {(7)}^{2} = 438 + 49 = 487

487 - {(6)}^{2} = 487 - 36 = 451

451 + {(5)}^{2} = 451 + 25 = 476

476 - {(4)}^{2} = 476 - 16 = 460

460 + {(3)}^{2} = 460 + 9 = 469

Hence : The term 447 is wrong in the series.

By adding seven square to the first term, we will get second term 487.

By subtracting six square from second term , we will get third term 451 which is not equals to given third term . SO , 447 IS THE WRONG TERM .

The process continues by decreasing square numbers and solving with addition and subtraction with the previous terms.

Hope it helps you.
