Answer:

in the ratio of 3:1

Step-by-step explanation:

in order to obtain a mixture of tea worth of rs. 110 let there be P kg of rs. 100/kg and Q kg of rs. 140/kg is mixed.

NOW,

the total quantity of the new tea = (p+q)kg

cost of new tea = individual cost of the amount of tea mixed

i.e,

rs 110(p+q) = rs 100p + rs 140q

110p+110q = 100p+140q

10p = 30q

p = 3q  (which simply means 1 kg of rs 100/kg tea and 3kg of rs 140/kg                                   .              is mixed)

so, p/q = 3:1

    p:q = 3:1

hence, the required ratio is 3:1
