So,

> 56% of x

According to the question, there are 6 less girls than boys .

So,

44% of x + 6 = 56% of x

> 56% of x - 44% of x = 6

> 12% of x = 6

> 12/100 x = 6

> x = 50

Thus, there are 50 students in the class.
