let total students be x. girls percentage = 44% of total students = (44/100)*x so the boys = x- (44x/100) =56x/100 given : no of girls= no. of boys-6 44x/100 = (56x/100)-6 44x/100 = (56x-600)/100 100 is cancelled from both the sides. 44x= 56x-600 44x-56x= - 600 -12x = - 600 x = - 600/ - 12= 50 total students = 50

hello,
let the no. of girls be x
and no. of boys be y
total students =x+y
according to first condition
44% of (x+y)=x
44/100(x+y)=x
44x+44y=100x
44y=56x............................1
according to second condition
girls are 6 less than boys
y-x=6
y=x+6...............................2
using 2 in 1
44(x+6)=56x
44x+44×6=56x
44×6=8x
x=33
y=x+6
y=39
total students=x+y
=72 students
hope this helps,if u like it please mark it as brainliest
