Given:

Balance of trade = 10000crores (deficit)

export = half of imports.

To find

value of the imports.

Solution:

Balance of trade = 10,000 crores in deficit

export = half of imports.

Let the imports be 'x'

balance \: of \: trade = imports - exports

10000 = x -  \frac{x}{2}

10000 =  \frac{2x - x}{2}

2 \times 10000 = x

x = 20000

Therefore the value of imports is 20000 crores.

The correct option from the given options is option (c) 20,000 crores
