value becomes 9 ohm. Calculate the value of each resistance.​

in series,

R =R1+ R2

9=x+y

y=9-x............... 1

in parallel

1/R=1/R1+1/R2

1/2 =1/x +1/9-x

x=3 or 6

y=9-x = 6 or 3
