suppose, the price of 1 kg groundnut is rs X. And, the person bought y kg in 48 rs.

So, X × y=48

After the increased price,

The price of ground nut per kg= 1.25 X rs/kg

And, he bought (y-1.5) kg

So, 1.25X × (y-1.5)= 48

after solving both equations

we get, X= earlier price of groundnut/kg = 6.40 rs
