Answer:

450 cm³

Explanation:

    2CO + O₂ ⇒ 2CO₂

i.e. 2 Vol : 1 Vol ⇒ 2 Vol (Lussac's law)

Amount of unused CO :

CO : O₂

2 : 1

x : 200

x = 400 cm³

∴ Amount of unused CO = 450 - 400

  • 50 cm³

Amount of CO₂ formed :

O₂ : CO₂

1 : 2

200 : x₁

x₁ = 400 cm³

∴ Amount of CO₂ formed = 400 cm³

∴ Total mixture = 450 cm³

Lussac's law:

When gases react they do so in volumes which bears a simple whole number ratio to one another and to the volumes of the products, when they are in gaseous state, the temperature and pressure of the reacting gases and their products remain constant.
