210 is the number.

Given data:

46     38      42      26

29     44      12       28

12      11        14       12

212    342     ?        60

Options: 210 , 200 , 202 , 205

To find:

The number that should fill the given position to find.

Solution:

Let the number to find be 'x'

The logic behind this question is- Taking the absolute difference between first two columns upto three rows and then,

(1st row diff  x 2nd row diff) + (3rd row diff x ( 3rd row diff+ 9))

and that will be the difference between last row two numbers.

For first two columns:

Row 1: | 46 - 38 | = | 8 | = 8

Row 2: | 29 - 44 | = | - 15 | = 15

Row 3: |12 - 11 | = | 1 | = 1

Applying logical formula: (8 x 15) + ( 1 x ( 1 + 9))

                                        = 120 + 10

                                        = 130

And 130 is the difference between 212  and 342.

Similarly, for the next two columns:

Row 1: | 42 - 26 | = | 16 | = 16

Row 2: | 36 - 28 | = | 8 | = 8

Row 3: |14 - 12 | = | 2 | = 2

Applying logical formula: (16 x 8) + ( 2 x ( 2 + 9))

                                        = 128 + 22

                                        = 150

As the difference is 150, and the last number in the last column is 60, the last number in the third row will be

x - 60 = 150

[Per options, the answer should be >200, so we eliminate -(x-60) possibility]

x = 150 + 60

x = 210

Therefore, 210 is the number!
