46. A body starts from rest and with a uniform
acceleration of 10 ms 2 for 5 seconds. During the
next 10 seconds it moves with uniform velocity. The
total distance travelled by the body is :-
(1) 100 m
(2) 125 m
(3) 500 m
(9) 625 m

Answer

625 m

Explanation:

body starts from rest that is u=0

now for first 5sec. a=10m/s^2

using 2nd eqn of motion.

x=ut+1/2at^2.

x=0+ 1/2×10×5×5

therefore x = 125m

now using first eqn of motion to find final speed

v=u+at

v=0+10×5

v=50 m/s

now let's see the case for next 10 sec

here speed is constant=50m/s

now using x=vt

x=50×10

x=500m

total distance =125+500=625m
