☛Let m1 of mass 3 kg and m2 of mass 5 kg are connected to dynamometer as shown in figure.

☛Let D is the force pulling the masses towards dynamometer.

☛Let a be the acceleration of masses due to the forces acting on them.

• Newtons law applied to m1 : D -9= 3×a ........................(1)

• Newtons law applied to m2 : 25 - D = 5×a ........................(2)

☛By adding eqns.(1) and (2), we get 16 = 8×a or a = 2 m/s2

✎ By substituting a in eqn.(1), we get, D = 15 N . Hence dynamometer will read 15 N....
