Step-by-step explanation:

Let original rate of sugar was Rs x/kg. [expenditure Rs.x and consumption 1kg]

New rate of sugar = Rs(x-30/100×x)/kg= Rs.(7x/10)/kg

New expenditure = Rs.(x+10/100.x) = Rs.(11x/10)

In Rs.(7x/10) the quantity of sugar = 1 kg.

In. Re.1. the. quantity. of sugar. =10/7x kg

In. Rs. (11x/10)the quantity of sugar = (10×11x)/(10×7x)= 11/7kg.

Consumption increased = 11/7 - 1 = 4/7 kg.

Percentage increased in consumption= {(4/7)/1}×100= 400/7. % =57.14 %.

Hope it helps
