Concept Introduction: Basic arithmetic is the basic concept of Mathematics.

Given:

We have been Given: A alone can finish in

48 \: days

he worked for

18 \: days

and then B joined him. Both finished the remaining work in

18 \times \frac{3}{4}  =  \frac{75}{4}

To Find:

We have to Find: In how many days B can finish the work alone?

Solution:

According to the Problem, A works

 \frac{18}{48}  =  \frac{3}{8}

remaining,

1 -  \frac{3}{8}  =  \frac{5}{8}

therefore, next

 \frac{5}{8}  =  \frac{75}{4}  \\  \frac{5 \times 4}{8 \times 75}  =  \frac{1}{30}

therefore,

240 \div 30 = 80 \: days

Final Answer: B alone can finish the work in

80 \: days
