Answer:

  1. It is given that when a Number is divided by 80 then it leaves remainder 20.⠀
  2. What will be remainder when the same number will be divided by 16.⠀
  3. We can see that 16 will divide 80 completely in 3 times, so 16 will must divide that Number in the same manner.⠀
  4. All we need to check what will be remainder when the we divide remainder i.e. 20⠀

\sf16 \:)\:20 \:( \:1 \\ {\qquad\!\sf16}\\ -  -  -  -  -  \\{ \qquad\:\sf4}

We can see that we get 4 as remainder when we divide the rest remainder of first division.

\therefore\:\underline{\textsf{It will give \textbf{4} as remainder when divided by 16}}.

\rule{200}{1}

Points to remember :

  • The second divisor (Here 16) should must divide the first divisor (Here 80) completely.
  • After that Simply divide the first remainder (Here 20) by second divisor (Here 16).
  • Whatever remainder will be obtained, that is our Answer.
