The length of the larger rectangle=20m

The breath of the larger rectangle =10m

Area of the larger rectangle=(l×b)=(20×10)=200m sq.

The length of the smaller rectangle=18m

The breath of the smaller rectangle=8m

Area of the smaller rectangle=(l×b)=(18×8)=144m sq.

Area of the shaded region=(200-144)=56m sq.

Hope it's useful

To Find:

The shaded part of rectangle, i.e., Area of Rectangle 1 – Area of Rectangle 2.

Answer:

\Large{\boxed{\red{\underline{= 56 \:m ^{2}}}}}

Formula used:

Area of rectangle = Length (L) × Breadth (B)

Step-by-step explanation:

There are two rectangles,

Inner rectangle with Length and Breadth, 18m and 8m respectively.

And Outer rectangle with Length and Breadth, 20m and 10m respectively.

Outer Rectangle = Rectangle 1

Inner Rectangle = Rectangle 2

We need to find the area of the shaded rectangle, which is, Area of Rectangle 1 – Area of Rectangle 2.

Area of Rectangle 1 = L × B

= 20 × 10

= 200 \:m ^{2}

Area of Rectangle 2 = L × B

= 18 × 8

= 144 \:m ^{2}

The area of shaded rectangle = Area of Rectangle 1 – Area of Rectangle 2

= 200 \:m ^{2} – 144 \:m ^{2}

= 56 \:m ^{2}

Therefore, Area of shaded rectangle

\large{\boxed{\red{\underline{= 56 \:m ^{2}}}}}
