Sanitizers of each type was sold in June is 590 and 410 so option d) is correct.
If the store sold 500 bottles of each type of sanitizer in June their sales is Rs 1100 so option d) is correct
When rate was increased 1650 , 850 bottles of each type were sold in the next month so option d) is correct.
179.66 % of increase was found in alpha sanitizer in July as compared to June so option c) is correct
In July, if total of 1050 bottles of each type were sold, the sales will be Rs 25200 so option b) is correct
Given : The cost of small bottle of sanitizer is Rs 10 and the cost of beta sanitizer is Rs 12.
Bottles sold by company in June is 1000
Total sale made by company in June is Rs 10820
Company increased the price of both the sanitizer by Rs 1
Bottles sold by company in July is 2500
Total sale made by company in July is Rs 29200
To Find :
i) How many sanitizers of each type was sold in June
a) 460, 510 b) 540, 460 c) 410, 590 d) 590, 410
ii) If the store sold 500 bottles of each type of sanitizer in June, what would be their sales ?
(a) 5500 (b) 5600 (c) 10,500 (d) 11,000
iii) How many bottles of each type were sold in the next month when rate was increased ?
(a) 1200, 1300 (b) 1300, 1200 (c) 1550, 950 (d) 1650, 850
iv) What percent of increase was found in alpha sanitizer in July as compared to June ?
(a) 182% (b) 79% (c) 179.66% (d) 50%
v) In July, if total of 1050 bottles of each type were sold, what would be the sale ?
(a) 25,000 (b) 25,200 (c) 27,000 (d) 28,500
Solution :
i) Let the company sold x amount of alpha sanitizer and y amount of beta sanitizer.
and the cost of small bottle of sanitizer is Rs 10 and the cost of beta sanitizer is Rs 12.
Bottles sold by company in June is 1000
Total sale made by company in June is Rs 10820
So linear equation is
x + y = 1000 1)
10x +12y = 10820 2)
Now solving equation 1 and 2
Multiply equation 1) by 10 and subtract it with 2)
we get
10x +10y = 10000
10x + 12y = 10820
- - -
-2y = -820
y = 410
Putting the value of y in 1 we get x = 1000 - 410 = 590
So x is 590 and y is 410
So option d) is correct.
ii) If the store sold 500 bottles of each type of sanitizer in June then their sales will be
10 × 500 + 12 × 500
= 5000 + 6000
= Rs 11000
So option d) is correct.
iii) When the rate of both the bottles is increased by Rs 1
then new price of bottles is
The new cost of small bottle of sanitizer is Rs 11 and the new cost of beta sanitizer is Rs 13.
Then the new linear equation will be
x + y = 2500 2)
11x + 13y = 29200 3)
Multiply 2 by 11 and subtract
11x + 11y = 27500
11x +13y = 29200
- - -
-2y = -1700
y = 850
then x = 2500 -850
= 1650
So x is 1650 and y is 850
So option d) is correct.
iv)
In July the sale of alpha sanitizer is 1650
In June the sale of alpha sanitizer is 590
Percentage increase of sales is
×
= = %
So option c) is correct
v)
If the store sold 1050 bottles of each type of sanitizer in July then their sales will be
11 × 1050 + 13 × 1050
= 11550 + 13650
= Rs 25200
So option b) is correct.
