Answer:

x=2 y= -1

Step-by-step explanation:

Add equations 1 and 2 ,

78x+78y = 78

Divide both sides by 78

x+ y = 1 —————>equation3

Subtract equations 1 and 2 ,

16x - 16y = 48

Divide both sides by 16

x - y = 3 ——————>equation4

add equations 3 and 4 ,

2x = 4

x= 2

Put x value in equation 3 ,

2+y = 1

y= -1

47x+31y=63..........(i)

31x+47y=15...........(ii)

by adding both the questions ,

we get , 78x+78y=78

or,78(x+y)= 78( 78 will cancel from both sides)

therefore, x+y= 1........(iii)

now by subtracting equation (ii) from (i) we get,

16 x - 16y = 48

or, 16(x-y) = 48

or,x-y= 48/16

or,x-y = 3..........(iv)

now by elimination method ,

we will substract equation (iii) and (iv)

we get, x + y = 1

x - y = 3

(-) (+) (-)

_____________

2y = -2

or, y= -1 ans..

therefore by putting the value of y in equation (iv) we get,

x-(-2)= 3

or,x+2 = 3

or, x= 3-2

or,x= 1 answer...
