The equations are:

47x+31y=63

31x+47y = 15

Adding equation(1) and (2), we have,

78x+78y=78

⇒x+y=1

Subtracting equation(2) from equation(1), we have,

16x-16y=48

⇒x-y=3

Adding equation (1) and (4), we get,

2x=4

⇒x = 4/2=2

Substituting in (1), we have

47×2+31y = 63

⇒94+31y = 63

⇒31y=63-94

⇒y=-31/31

⇒y=-1

∴ x = 2 and y=-1
