49. Find the values of a and B for which the system of
eg. 3x + 4y=12& (a + B)x + 2(a-By=5a-1
has more than one solution.
(a) a = 5 and B = 1 (b) a = 4 and B = 3

3x + 4y = 12 & (a+B)x +2(a-by=5a-1

put a= 5,b= 1.

3x+4y=12&(5+1)x+2(5-1y= 5×5-1

3x+4y=12&6x+10-2y= 25-1

3x+4y =12&10+ 6x-2y = 24

(3x+4y)- (6x +2y)=12&10=24

3x+4y -6x-2y =12&10=24

3x -6x+4y-2y=12&10=24

-3x+2y =12×10=24

-3x+2y=120-24

-3x+2y = 96
