49. From a point in the interior of an equilateral
triangle perpendiculars drawn to the three sides are
8 cm, 10 cm and 11 cm respectively. Find the area of
the triangle to the nearest cm. (use V3 =1.73)

Answer:

Let the side be 2s.

So, the traingle is divided into three traingles.

Area of the triangles = 16s, 20s and 22s respectively.

By pythagoras theoram, height of triangle is root3 s.

So area of the whole traingle is root3 s*s

Root3 s*s = 16s + 20s + 22s

Root3 s = 58

So, s = 58/1.74 = 33.33cm
