Answer:

P(of getting a prime number) = 1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

Now,

we know that,

There are 8 numbers from 1 to 8

So, total outcomes = 8

Now, prime numbers from 1 to 8 = 2, 3, 5, 7

Thus,

there are 4 prime numbers

So, possible outcomes = 4

Probability = Possible outcomes/Total outcomes

P(of getting a prime number) = 4/8

∴ P(of getting a prime number) = 1/2

Hope it helped and you understood it........All the best

Question :- 49.From randomly choose a number from 1 to 8 . Find the probability that, it is a prime number ?

A) 1/3

B) 1/2

C) 1/8

D) 3/8

Solution :-

given that, a number is choose randomly from 1 to 8 .

So,

→ Number from 1 to 8 are = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 ,7 and 8 = Total 8 .

Than,

→ Total number of possible outcomes = 8 .

Now, we have to find the probability that, it is a prime number .

Prime Number :-

  • A whole numbers greater than 1, that have only two factors , 1 and the number itself.
  • 2 is the smallest and only even prime number.

So,

→ Prime number from 1 to 8 are = 2, 3, 5, 7 = Total 4.

Than,

Number of favourable outcomes = 4.

Now, we know that,

  • Probability = (Number of favorable outcomes) / (Total number of possible outcomes) .

Therefore,

→ Required Probability = (4/8) = (1/2) (Option B) (Ans.)
