Answer:

OPTION A

Sure for help ,

Standard form of a polynomial

A standard form of a polynomial of degree 1 = a x + b = 0

A standard form of a polynomial of degree 2 = a x² + b x + c = 0 .

And so on ...

Option verification :

OPTION a )

- 7 + 6 y + 5 y² .

The equation in standard form is :

5 y² + 6 y - 7

Here the leading coefficient is 5 .

So the correct answer is OPTION a )

OPTION b )

5 y + 3 y² - 4

This when written in standard form is :

⇒ 3 y² + 5 y - 4

The leading coefficient is 3 .

OPTION c )

The equation written in standard form is :

- 5 x³ + x² + 2 x

Here leading coefficient is - 5  .

OPTION d )

The equation is already in standard form .

x + 5 has leading coeffecient of 1 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Coefficient of a term is the value multiplied to it .

For example : coefficient of 5 x² is 5 .

The leading coefficient has the highest power .

ans) a) -7 + 6y + 5y^2

By comparing it to the standard form viz.

ax^2 + by + c = 0

5y^2 + 6y - 7 =0

Hence, it has leading coefficient 5

Therefore, option 'a' is the correct one

Hope it helps u ^_^ ^_^ ^_^
