4a² - 4√3a + 3

= 4a² - 2√3a - 2√3a + 3

= 2a(2a - √3) - √3(2a - √3)

= (2a - √3)(2a - √3).

or

4a² - 4√3a + 3

= (2a)² - 2(2a)(√3) + (√3)²

= (2a - √3)²

= (2a - √3)(2a - √3).
