4m wide path is constructed around a rectangular park which is 50 m long and 32 m wide.
Find the area of the path.

We know that,

Area of a rectangle = Length × Breadth

Therefore, Area of the park

= 50m × 32m

Area of park with path

= 50 + 4 + 4 × 32 + 4 + 4

= 50 + 8 × 32 + 8

= 58 × 40

= 2320m²

Therefore, The area of the path

Area of park with path - Area of park

= 2320m² - 1600m²

= 720m²
