Volume of the Alcohol = 4 mL.

Volume of the Water = 36 mL.

∵ % Volume of the Alcohol = Volume of the Alcohol/Volume of the water + Alcohol.

= (4/36 + 4) × 100

= 4/40 × 100

= 10 %.

Hence, the % Volume of the solution is 10 %.
