The value of x is 3.75

GIVEN:- 4x-15=0

TO FIND:- solution for x

SOLUTION:-

  • The linear equation in one variable is an equation which is expressed as a form of ax+b = 0, where a and b are two integers, and x is a variable which has only one solution.

  • In the given questions 4 and 15 are two integers and x is a variable which has only one solution. We need to find one solution for x.

According to the question,

4x-15=0

When we shift any integer or variable from one side to another then the sign changes.

4x = 0 + 15 \\ 4x = 15

Dividing both sides by 4

 \frac{4x}{4}  =  \frac{15}{4}  \\ x = 3.75

To check whether the answer is correct or not, we'll substitute the value of x in LHS

4x - 15 \\  = (4 \times 3.75) - 15 \\ =  15 - 15  \\  = 0 = rhs

LHS = RHS =0

Hence, the value of x is 3.75
