Required Answer :-

x = -1

Solution :-

4x - 2 = 2x - 4

4x - 2x - 2 + 4 = 0

2x + 2 = 0

2x =  - 2

 x = \frac{ - 2}{2}

 x  =  \frac{ \cancel - 2}{ \cancel2}

x =  - 1

Verification :-

4x - 2  =  2x - 4.

4 \times  - 1  - 2 = 2 \times  - 1 - 4

 - 4 - 2 =  - 2 - 4

 - 6 =  - 6

LHS = RHS
