Solution :

4x² + 7x + 2 = 0

Divide each term by 4 , we get

=> x² + 7x/4 + 1/2 = 0

=> x² + 2*x*(7/8) = -1/2

=> x² + 2*x*(7/8) + ( 7/8 )² = -1/2 + ( 7/8 )²

=> ( x + 7/8 )² = -1/2 + 49/64

=> ( x + 7/8 )² = ( -32 + 49 )/64

=> ( x + 7/8 )² = 17/64

=> x + 7/8 = ± √17/8

=> x = -7/8 ± √17/8

=> x = ( -7 ± √17 )/8
