4x + 8y = -24 -----------(ii)

Adding eqn i and ii, we get,

-2y + 8y = -2 - 24

=> 6y = -26

=> y = -26/6 = -13/3 ans.

Putting this value in eqn (i), we get,

x = 8/3 ans.
