Solution

Given :-

  • 4x + 2y = 8_______(1)
  • 3x - y = -1_________(2)

Find :-

  • Value of x & y

Explanation

By, Elemination Method

For, this Multiply by 2 in equ(2)

  • 6x - 2y = -2_________(3)

Add equ(1) & equ(2)

==> 6x + 4x = 8 - 2

==> 10x = 6

==> x = 6/10

==> x = 3/5

Or,

==> x = 0.6

Keep Value in equ(1)

==> 4 × 3/5 + 2y = 8

==> 12/5 + 2y = 8

==> (12+10y) = 40

==> 10y = 40 - 12

==> 10y = 28

==> y = 28/10

==> y = 2.8

Hence

  • Value of x = 0.6
  • Value of y = 2.8

Answer Verification

For, this keep value of x & y in equ(1)

==> 0.6 × 4 + 2 × 2.8 = 8

==> 2.4 + 5.6 = 8

==> 8 = 8

L.H.S. = R.H.S.

That's Proved
