Given ,

The eq is 4x + (3x - y)i = 8 + 11i

Thus ,

4x = 8

x = 8/4

x = 2

and

3x - y = 11

3(2) - y = 11 { because x = 2 }

6 - y = 11

y = 6- 11

y = -5

Hence , the values of x and y are 2 & -5
