4x + 3 y = 17

3x - 4y = -6

multiply first equation by 4

16x + 12y = 68

Now, multiply second equation by 3

9x - 12y = -18

by elimination method

x = 3

for y

putting the value of x in first equation

12 + 3y = 17

3y = 17 -12

3y = 5

y = 5/3
