5x + 3y = 25 (1)

3x - 4y = 24 (2)

ANSWER :

By substitution method

From equation (1)

5x = 25 - 3y

x = 25- 3y

5

Putting the value of X in equation (2)

3( 25 - 3y ) - 4y = 24

5

3( 5 - 3y ) - 4y = 24

15 - 9y - 4y = 24

- 13y = 24 - 15

- 13y = 9

y = 9

-13

putting the value of Y in equation (2)

3x - 4 ( 9 ) = 24

-13

39x - 36 = 312

39x = 312 + 36

39x = 348

x = 348
