6x +5y = 8 .............. 2)

multiplying equation 1) by 5 and

multiplying equation 2) by 3 .

so we get,

20x + 15y = 0 ............... 3)

18 x + 15 y = 24 .............. 4)

now, subtract eq. 3) from eq. 4)

after subtracting... we get,

-2x = 24

therefore, x = -12

now we will substitute x= -12 in eq 1)

4 × (-12) +3y =0

-48 +3y = 0

3y = 48

y = 48 /3

y = 16

therefore we get x= -12 and y = 16.
