Required Answer:-

Given Equations:

  • 4x + 3y - 4 = 0
  • 6x = 8 - 5y

To Find:

  • The values of x and y.

Solution:

Given,

→ 4x + 3y - 4 = 0

→ 4x + 3y = 4 – (i)

And,

→ 6x = 8 - 5y

→ 6x + 5y = 8 – (ii)

Multiplying (i) by 5, we get,

→ 20x + 15y = 20 – (iii)

Multiplying (ii) by 3, we get,

→ 18x + 15y = 24 – (iv)

Subtracting (iv) from (iii), we get,

→ 2x = -4

→ x = -2

So,

→ 6x = 8 - 5y

→ -12 = 8 - 5y

→ -20 = -5y

→ y = 4

So,

 \begin{cases} \tt x =  - 2 \\ \tt y = 4 \end{cases}

Answer:

  • x = -2 and,
  • y = 4.

Answer:

Given:-

4x+3y-4=0

4x+3y=4 (1)

6x=8-5y

6x+5y=8 (2)

Solution:-

4x+3y=4 (1)×5

6x+5y=8 (2)×3

Eliminating y in both the equations:-

20x+15y=20 (3)Subtracting (4) from (3)

18x+15y=24 (4)

(-) (-) (-)

2x= -4

x =  \frac{ - 4}{2}

x= -2

Substituting x= -2 in the equation (1):-

4(-2)+3y=4

-8+3y=4

3y=4+8

3y=12

y =  \frac{12}{3}

y=4

Verifying by substituting x and y in (2).

6x+5y=8

6(-2)+5(4)=8

-12+20=8

8=8

Since,

LHS=RHS

Hence,the given solution:-

x= -2

y=4
