Let 1/x =u ; 1/y = v

Now (1) and (2) become

3u + 4v =8 -----(3)

5u+ 6v = 13 ----(4)

Multiply equ (3) by3

Multiply equ (4)by 2

9u + 12 v = 24-----(5)

10u + 12v = 26----(6)

Substrcting equ(5) from (6) we get

U= 2

Now from equ (3) e get

6 + 4v = 8

=> 4v

=>v = 1/2

Now ,u= 2 v= 1/2

1/x = 2 ,1/y = 1/2

=> x = 1/2 y = 2
