Given linear equation in one

variable x is ,

4x - 5 = 15

add 5 both sides of the equation ,

we get ,

=> 4x - 5 + 5 = 15 + 5

=> 4x = 20

divide each term with 4 we get,

=> ( 4x/4 ) = ( 20/4 )

=> x = 5

Therefore ,

x = 5
