2x+y-6=0......(2)
Multiplying equation (2) by 2
We get, 4x+2y-12=0.......(3)
Now subtracting (3) by (1)
We get,
-7y+28=0
-7y=-28
y=4........(4)
Putting y=4 in equation (1)
4x-5(4)+16=0
4x-20+16=0
4x-4=0
x=1
Therefore
x=1 and y=4
